The Gilt is a magazine for women living well on their own terms — beauty rituals without the industrial complex, style with an editing eye, books and ideas worth your evening, and the quiet work of the inner world.
We publish across five worlds: The Inner World (psychology and self-knowledge), The Ritual (beauty, wellness, sleep), The Aesthetic (fashion and design), The Culture Desk (books, art, ideas) and The Woman (profiles). Our sensibility is quiet luxury: fewer, better, yours.
Every Sunday we send The Gilt Letter — one essay, one ritual, three finds. Subscribe here.
The Gilt is independently published by MDZ Strategic Communication from Brussels, Belgium, and written under the editorship of The Editor. We test what we recommend, we cite our sources, and when the science disagrees with the trend, the science wins.
Our Editorial Standards
How we verify what we publish. Every product recommendation on The Gilt is tested personally by The Editor before it’s written about — not sent a press release and repeated. Every statistic or study we cite links to its primary source, not a secondhand summary. When a claim is contested or the evidence is mixed, we say so in the piece rather than smoothing it over.
Corrections. If something we’ve published turns out to be wrong, we fix it and note the update date at the top of the piece. We’d rather be corrected than protect a headline.
Affiliate disclosure. Some links on The Gilt are affiliate links, clearly marked at the top of any post where they appear. We only recommend what meets our own bar — the commission never decides the pick.
Editorial independence. The Gilt is not sponsored by, and does not accept payment from, any brand mentioned in an article without disclosure. Sponsored content, if it ever runs, will be labeled as such.
